Cummins engine generator sets are used very frequently in winter. Due to the low temperature in winter, it will have a certain impact on the normal operation of Cummins house generator sets. 1. Do not use an open flame to bake the oil pan of the diesel engine generator. This will cause the genset engine oil in the oil pan to deteriorate or even burn, and the lubricating performance will be reduced or completely lost, which will aggravate the wear of the machine. In winter, a low-freezing point oil should be used.
2. Light diesel with low freezing point and good ignition performance should be used in winter. Because the low temperature in winter will reduce the fluidity of diesel oil, increase the viscosity, it is not easy to spray, it will cause poor atomization, can not fully burn, cause the power of Cummins dg generator set to drop, and cause waste. It is generally required that the freezing point of diesel engine generator oil should be 7-10℃ lower than the current local low gas season.
3. After the Cummins dg set is turned off, the water temperature is below 60℃, and the water is not hot, then turn off the fire and release the water. When the body is suddenly attacked by cold air at high degrees, it will shrink suddenly and crack. Drain the water thoroughly.
4. The air filter cannot be removed for heating, causing wear of piston and cylinder and other parts.
The temperature in winter is low, so heat preservation is the key to good use of Cummins generator set in winter. In the northern region, Cummins generator set used in winter should be equipped with thermal insulation sleeves and thermal curtains and other cold-proof equipment, often using an abnormal starting method without water starting (start first, then add cooling water). This practice can cause serious damage to the machine, and its use should be prohibited.
Preheating method: first cover the heat preservation quilt on the water tank, open the drain valve, and continuously pour 60-70℃ clean and soft water into the water tank. When the water flowing out of the drain valve feels hot, close the drain valve and fill the water tank. Put in clean soft water at 90-100℃, and shake the crankshaft so that all moving parts are properly pre-lubricated before starting.
