Since noise is very harmful to the human body, we generally measure the noise of the dg set. The main equipment used is the sound level meter.
The sound level meter is the most commonly used portable instrument for noise measurement, which can measure the total sound pressure level and various weighted sound pressure levels. Commonly used sound level meters can be divided into ordinary sound level meters and precision sound level meters according to their accuracy.
1. The working principle of sound level meter
The sound level meter is composed of a microphone, amplifier, attenuator, weighting network, detection and display. The preamplifier is used for impedance conversion, and the attenuator is used for range switching. This sound level meter has three weighting networks of A, B, and c. It can be used with spectrum analyzers, level recorders and displays to comprehensively analyze noise spectral characteristics of the source.
After the genset engine system is powered on and initialized, the CPU first sets the attenuation coefficient to the minimum gear, and then selects the weighting network. After the weighting network is determined, first pass the noise with the lowest frequency through the spectrum filter, and then check whether the attenuation coefficient is correct, and if it is correct, measure the sound pressure value of this frequency noise. Then measure the sound pressure values of noise at other frequencies until the noise at the center frequency of each octave is measured and each sound pressure level is calculated, and finally the average sound pressure level is calculated.
2. The working principle of the microphone of the sound level meter
Microphone is a genset sensor that realizes sound-to-electric conversion. There are electric, piezoelectric and capacitive types. The working principle of the electric microphone is: under the action of sound pressure, the moving coil in the magnetic field vibrates and induces electromotive force with the change of sound pressure. It is characterized by low output impedance and low temperature influence, but low sensitivity and magnetic field The interference is large, and it is mostly used for ordinary sound level meters. Piezoelectric microphones are based on the piezoelectric effect of certain piezoelectric materials, which convert sound pressure changes into electric charges or electrical signal output. Its structure is simple, cheap, and wide dynamic range, but its sensitivity is low, and it is greatly affected by temperature. It is often used in ordinary sound level meters.
